1- Indiana Pacers- Tony Parker G
Nova will start the new legacy of Pacers basketball with the selection of Tony Parker. The player with the most impact in this draft immediately has to be Parker, espicially at the point guard spot. Should the Pacers land the #1 pick, Parker should be a no brainer for them.
2- New York Knicks- Jason Richardson G
The Knicks need alot of help in alot of areas so taking the second best player in the draft should go over well for the future of this club. Richardson should be a franchise player for them within 3-4 seasons with the potential to be an all-star candidate year in and year out.
3- Utah Jazz- Gilbert Arenas G
There are strong indications around the league that Arenas will choose to stay at Arizona for one more year and improve his draft status next season. However the Jazz would love to land Agent Zero at this point in the draft, but would also be drawn to selections of Gasol and Johnson.
4- Los Angeles Lakers- Pau Gasol F
The Spaniard should be taken here based on his skill set alone. The Lakers could shift Gasol to center and allow Nowitzki and Harrington to man the forward spots. Either way Gasol should be a top five pick in this draft barring a deal or trade.
5- Miami Heat- Joe Johnson F
The Heat need scoring in a bad way, and they should get with Johnson. The former Razorback should come in right away and be a rookie of the year candidate. Johnson is only a sophomore, so if he chooses to stay in school, the Heat could also look at Zach Randolph and Eddy Curry here.
6- Golden State Warriors- Eddy Curry C
A potential front court that features Elton Brand and Eddy Curry will be too much to pass up for Pig. Curry still needs time to develop but the Warriors should allow him enough time to improve his offensive game. If Curry is somehow off the board at this point, Zach Randolph and Jamaal Tinsley are intriguing here.
7- Memphis Grizzlies- Tyson Chandler C
GM Chris Martinez would benefit by taking this young big man to complement the rest of his roster which lacks frontcourt help. The former Dominguez star should help the Grizz rise from the bottom of the league in blocks and rebounds.
8- Phoenix Suns- Zach Randolph F
The Suns should go with the best choice available at this point in the draft and that is Zach Randolph. However Randolph is only a freshman at MSU, and maybe not be ready to come out and contribute. If Tom Izzo can lure Randolph back, the Suns could also take flyers on Richard Jefferson and Gerald Wallace.
9- Toronto Raptors- Richard Jefferson F
GM DJ loves athletic wings who can also stroke it from deep and that's exactly what Jefferson brings to the table. As an upperclassman, Jefferson seems like a lock to stay in the draft and be taken in the top 10.
10- New Jersey Nets- Gerald Wallace F
New Jersey should stay young and athletic with this pick of Gerald Wallace at No. 10. Wallace should mesh nicely with point guard Baron Davis and carry some of the scoring load at the same time. Wallace unlike Jefferson, is an underclassman but would benefit the most from his draft status by staying in the pool.
11- Atlanta Hawks- Kwame Brown F
Brown stays in his hometown of Atlanta with this pick at No. 11. The Hawks most glaring need seems to be at the center spot and shooting guard spots but Brown should be able to come in his rookie season and help this team grow. The Hawks could also shy away from Brown but seems the ideal pick with his potential and age.
12- New Orleans Hornets- Jamaal Tinsley G
With Damon Stoudamire on board, the Hornets should still gamble a bit and take the former Cyclones standout to have an insurance policy. Tinsley is a great distributor of the ball and has enough defense to slow most point guards down. Troy Murphy also makes sense here with the age of the New Orleans front court but the Tinsley pick is better for the future.
13- Seattle Sonics- Eddie Griffin F
The Sonics rank at the bottom of the league in shotblocking but Griffin should be able to address that problem. This Seton Hall standout is not very well rounded but can play help defense and hit the occasional three. Griffin is only a freshman but should be able to become a nice role player in the future.
