1. What is your team’s biggest weakness?
My Miami Heat team is currently in the rebuilding process, so we have plenty of weaknesses. I would say our main weakness is the ability to score the ball. Our defense has been pretty sound all year, but we’ve only managed to score 90 ppg. We are in the bottom 7 in the league in PPG, FG%, and 3P%. We have to potential stars in Gasol and Carter and a decent supporting cast, but we really lack depth, and have a huge hole at the center position. This will be addressed in the offseason where we hope to have a successful draft, free agency, and training camp.
2. What BBS team will win the title this year?
I think the 76ers are the best team in the league, built to win the title. Led by Shaquille O’Neal, they have great role players in Robinson and Bonzi Wells. They are also led by a veteran and very efficient PG, Terrell Brandon.
3. Which BBS player would you want to build your team around?
Kevin Garnett, easy answer. Not only is he my favorite player in real life but I feel he has the best ratings in the league and right at the top value-wise. He really does it all; scores, rebounds, defends, passes, and is young. He can play anywhere from SF-C, versatility which is essential for a team.
4. Who is the best player in the 2002 Draft and why?
This is without a doubt the toughest question of the series for me. My decision came down to the position. I feel a championship contending team needs a star big man. With that said, Yao Ming would be my pick at #1. He is bigger than anyone in the league, has a great rating set coming into the draft, and is the type of player that could keep a team contending for years. I really love Wade too, who could become one of the best scorers in the league, but with that said I feel they are almost dead even and I’d rather have a star center than a star guard.
5. Which future player are you most interested in seeing in BBS and why?
I’m going to go with OJ Mayo here. There are so many to choose from, but picking Lebron would be too boring. Mayo is a young guard with a ridiculous amount of potential. He’s a great all around player and I have seen him blow up in so many leagues and be a complete star. He can play the point, or lead a team at SG. He’s one of the most intriguing prospects for a draft in the future without a doubt.
6. Which GMs is the easiest and most difficult to talk trade with?
Well I’ve only been in BBS for nearly 2 seasons, so I haven’t had experience with all the GMs yet. For now, I’d say the easiest to talk trade with is Skillz. He makes so many moves that it’s not too hard to strike up a deal with him. In NBN, he’s probably owned half the league at some point in time. The most difficult to talk trade with so far is without a doubt the Magic GM. We had the Carter deal worked up for about a week and it was held up over the pick I gave up was top 8 protection or top 9 protection and neither one of us would budge. It took nearly a week for me to get it to top 9 protection!
7. What is the worst part of BBS?
As I said in the question above, I haven’t been in this league a really long time yet, but I’ve got a good feel for the league now. I’d say the worst part is the constant and usually pointless bickering between one another. Now I love rivalries between GMs and the occasional fight when necessary, but sometimes it gets pretty excessive here. But hey, I might not enjoy that 100% but it increases activity!
8. Which GM doesn't pull his weight?
The only GM that I’ve really noticed not seeing online often is Vernon. I don’t really know anything about him but it doesn’t seem to be a shocker to most GM’s. This won’t be a problem I’m sure because there’s some great GMs on the waiting list wanting to get into this league.
9. If you could change 1 rule in BBS what would it be?
I have no rule complaints whatsoever. They are fairly similar to NBN and I love the contract year rule. It’s a great idea that I feel has more pros than cons. The point is that you have to win with your team and not get a top 5 pick 6 years in a row.
10. What is your favorite league outside of BBS and why?
This is the easiest question, and it is the NBN. It’s the only other league I’m in but it’s a superb league that has a great history and legacy. It’s got a great set of GMs, good simming, and it is just a lot of fun to be in and socialize with most of the other GMs.
