1. What is your team's biggest weakness?
My team's biggest weakness is the lack of a go to scorer. We really don't have a #1 or really a #2 scoring option. We're not really a strong team to begin with as we have a team filled with rookies and mediocre free agent signings.
2. What team will win the BBS title this year?
Since I'm a bit late I'll predict for next year and I think its the San Antonio Spurs with probably the best young trio in Duncan, Jamison, and Bibby they will only get better but Vernon could be holding them back since he isn't the most active and might fail to really round off that starting lineup.
3. Which BBS player would you want to build around?
I'm thinking a bit outside of the box here when talking about a player who I'd like to build around by saying Tyson Chandler. Many people have went on and said Kobe or Garnett due to their massive skills and young age however its tough to build around those guys. Its easier to add one of those guys than to build around them. This is why we usually see these guys not have great talent along side of them for extended periods of times. A guy like Tyson you can build around because he isn't going to be an immediate impact player and you can add more talent around him via draft plus he is on his rookie contract. Guys like Wade, Arenas, and Ming should help their teams win more games right away but 7+ foot dominating defensive and rebounding centers aren't easy to come by. This is why we see great teams put together big packages to add premier talent after they have a core in place.
4. Who is the best player in the 2002 draft and why?
If I were to have acquired the #1 pick I was going to draft Dwayne Wade despite my philosophies of going big. I think Ming is going to be a fantastic player possibly 25,10, and 3 in the prime of his career but I think Wade is going to give 30,6,6, and 2 stls a game and might dominate early in his career more than Ming. I think Ming will take longer to develop allowing more interior defenders to enter the league.
5. Which future player are you looking forward to seeing in BBS and why?
This is so tough because I'm looking forward to so many guys but if I had to narrow it down to one player I would have to choose Michael Beasley. He is dominating the college game in real life right now and is 1 double double shy of breaking Carmelo Anthony's record he set in his freshman one and done year at Syracuse.
6. Which GMs are the easiest and most difficult to talk trades with?
No one is easy to make a trade with because there are so many great GMs in this league and I think what makes trading easy is when you find a team that can help your needs while you can help theirs. The GMs who are the most difficult for me are Aaron and Hernando because talking to them is like talking in the mirror. We're always on the same wave length and its impossible to pull one over on each other because we're so alike. Another person who was difficult to trade with was DJ because we're in the same division and big time rivals.
7. What is the worst part of BBS?
There just isn't enough of it and thankfully its not a drug because I'd be a junkie. A lot of people say the GMs but I think its great because I'm not here to be everyone's friend and I enjoy being friends with a lot of the GMs but I also enjoy being foes with some as well. I like when we have our 10 page arguments over some obscure things they are pretty fun when you're a part of them but not fun coming back and reading the aftermath. I think the worst part about BBS is when guys become less active and they have a big time player you want but due to their inactivity it makes it hard to trade with them.
8. What GM doesn't carry his weight?
I'd have to say KJKeelty because he constantly has a top 5 player in the league and never does as well as he could do. He fails to capitalize on his superstar talent by surrounding them with talent to win a championship instead he just sits on what he has and his team suffers because of it. He is also rarely on aim and is the most reluctant GM to pull a trigger on a deal.
9. If you could change 1 rule in BBS what would it be and why?
I would change the RC rule and allow teams to trade them and put no cap on people earning them. If you can use your activity and positive contributions to the league to your advantage I think you should be able to.
10. What is your favorite league outside of BBS and why?
My favorite league would have to be the Professional Putters Association because it takes all the athleticism out of golf and replaces it with all the pressure. Putting is the most underrated part of golf. The PPA makes it so easy and affordable for anyone to become a pro with $75 annual membership fee to enable you to become a national champion. Chicks dig putter because what girl doesn't like a guy who knows how to stick it in the hole?
