BBS is stronger than every with so many new faces in the league that have added a great deal of activity and talent. We saw the new guys dominate the playoffs last season and the old guys make excuses. With the first contract year coming about next season here is an early look at who could be out and who are some new faces doing well. Out with the Old Indiana Pacers- GM Nova was many people's pick to be the first victim of the contract year but he may luck out as there aren't 8 teams in the East who want to make the playoffs. Nova may make the 8th playoff spot by default however they are still a bad team with many holes. Damon Jones lack of offensive production along with his 4topg has to be a cause for concern as the leader of this offense. They also could add a scoring option player which could have been acquired easily with 1 of the 3 picks he sent to Toronto for Joel Pyrzbilla. Memphis Grizzlies- Everyone's favorite pest Christian Martinez are one of the worst teams in the league and they aren't even the 2nd best team in the state. Memphis U and Tennessee U would most likely dominate these Teddy Bears. Martinez needs this team to grow up and grow up fast or else he will be sitting on the curb begging for spare change. Another GM who failed to capitalize on teams unloading talent. New York Knicks-It looks like the Knicks will be ready to contend by next season however they are still in danger of seeing the boot if not improved. The Knicks should tank every GM in the East for rebuilding at the time he was going to be entering his contract year. In With the New
Miami Heat- Things are heating up for Eberner and co down in Miami. Miami is quickly off to the best start in the East and sports a European front court that maybe the smelliest tandem in the league. Vince Carter may have been one of the best acquisitions any team could have made because he is a franchise player. Seattle Sonics-Tick Tick Boom the Sonics exploded onto the scene with the outstanding play of Ray Allen leading the unlikely Sonics to the finals last season. Aar did a great job of bouncing back after losing starting center Chris Mihm to free agency. Aar managed to steal Q-Rich away from the Warriors. Sonics are poised to go right back to where they left off last season. Phoenix Suns-Bluedevils has stock piled some talent this off season in acquiring Stephon Marbury followed by Chris Webber to make him an instant contender in the West. Bluedevils has also done a great job of assembling a bench with guys like Terrell Brandon, Shawn Bradley, and Sabonis.

Nice artricle, but theres no way that Nova was tipped to be first one out, he is a top 15 GM in this league IMO. Also, Outlawz is to good to fall to the contract year.

I wouldn't say he was expected to be the first victim of the contract year, but he really did fuck up that trade.

I'm not sure how I fucked up...I overpaid, yeah, but he's still a quality player.

You could have used those other picks to build more pieces. Your going to have to trade futures to be able to make it through the contract year now. Yeah your record is 5-6 but your losing by 7 ppg so your not going to stay at .500. I just think you could have got him for a late pick.

I mean your situation is still fixable, it's just making things really tough.

I'm not sure how I fucked up...I overpaid, yeah, but he's still a quality player. You also rejected my offer of Baker and Hunter for Damon Jones, Gizzard, and Bobby Simmons. That would have seriously solidified your lineup and you wouldn't have given up picks. Ming, Pryz, Baker, J-Rich, Hunter but like I said you might make the playoffs with a below 500 record

It should be interesting but I don't think the #8 seed will be any worse than .475, and I would be completely shocked if the Pacers win that many games this year.

We all know the Raptors aren't going to make a push

Nice read. Im already quietly looking forward to next season. Im going to wait until the all star break to see if i make a push this season. Don't want to rush into a deal like nova did. Was hoping one of my first would havea shot at lotto but with so many teams tearing it down it kinda fucked up my flow. Should be an exiciting year next season.
