Welcome to BBS Rapid Fire where we get GMs to answer some of the craziest, funniest, and downright mean questions everyone else is afraid to ask!
In this edition we have the displeasure of dealing with New Jersey Nets GM "The Black Man" Mark, Miami Heat GM "I Popped An E-Boner" Ebener, Portland Trail Blazers GM Daniel "Pina" Basone, and Memphis Grizzlies GM "I'll Beat You Like a Pinata, While Sipping on Some Pina Colada" Martinez
And for our first loser we have New Jersey Nets GM, Mark!
If you had to change one thing about BBS what would it be and why?
Mark:I’d probably want to adjust the contract year so that it includes some clause about activity. Winning is important, but it is only half of the puzzle. In a league this active, you can’t sit on a team or a star and confidently remain in the league while literally not posting. That type of thing just doesn’t have a place here.
If you could replace one GM who would it be?
Mark:Vernon. I guess I was kind of implying that in my above post, but yeah, Vernon. I really like him. He’s an extremely good guy, but it has gotten to a point where his inactivity is just so great that it hurts the league. No one should consistently be singled out about activity the way he does and still keep his job. Yes, his team is great, but that’s why I’d like to see an adjustment to the contract year (although I have no idea what it could be, and love the contract year as is as well). He’s going to always win as long as he doesn’t trade Duncan, which keeps him safe. It shouldn’t be that way. We shouldn’t have 28 GMs get their bids in, and then tell Spence to sim because the 29th may or may not come. I realize he works many hours and works late, but that’s just more reasons for a split between BBS and Vernon. But I do like him a lot.
What GM seems like he would be cool to party with?
Mark:Outside of the people I know in person, I like Maniac a lot. He seems like a cool guy, and someone pretty similar to me and my group of friends. Aaron is a total dick for ripping him on the boards before I was able to make my own impression of him.
What GM seems like he would be a total party pooper?
Mark:Definitely Spence. He’s always locking inflammatory threads and failing to sim immediately when we demand it. Complete party pooper.
What GM is least likely to ever win a championship?
Mark:For some reason, the first name that popped into my head was ducky, which is weird and not my answer because he has AI and JO. I’ll say Martinez, although I’d love to say Aaron because 1) it would irritate him and 2) he’d probably trade away his pieces and rebuild before winning (to this he references his title, cool, get out of here).
What GM is the least funny?
Mark:Definitely ducky. I don’t get his humor, although I’m slowly becoming a fan of his because he seems like he has toned it down. Also, I really respect his Oregon fan site, I think the activity on his message boards is very impressive. Thedailyquack.com… that’s a shout out. Maybe Greg? It got weird that one time he started talking about his old girlfriend’s hooters and her big eyes. Yeah, that got weird.
Which GM you just know in real life is a complete nerd?
Mark:I thought about it, and I honestly don’t think anyone is that nerdy. Everyone loves sports, and to me that pretty much eliminates the possibility of being a nerd. I think we’ve got a pretty good set of GMs right now.
What GM probably has a hot sister?
Mark:CJ.
What GM will probably become famous?
Mark:Reilly. He seems the most ambitious out of everyone, and already has one foot in the famous door due to the agency. Now he just needs to screw over a client and become national.
Stay tuned for our second edition when we try to sit down and get to the same level as Portland GM Daniel Basone!
