Around the Horn was a live recording. Each contestant had 1 min to respond to each question as he was addressed by the host. You could interject if you felt strongly on the person's statement but ran the risk of being muted if talking out of turn if the host didn't like what you had to say. After each round point totals were updated and cuts were made after every 4 questions.

Nova: My surprise team is Golden State. They have played most of the season without Jason Kidd, and Joe Johnson has also missed 13 games. They have a very good big in Elton Brand and Johnson, when healthy has shown that he can play with the best of them. Getting Kidd back is huge, as I feel that he is one of the best PG's in the league in the clutch. Don't underestimate Eddie Jones either.
Andy who do you fear below in the west to make a shocking run if any?[/i]
Andy: Fear? Not really but I do like the Mavs. They have plenty of talent in TC, Curry, Amare, Hill, Nash and of course, Bron. They have a good amount of big man talent which should only help them.

Blue: Golden State has Elton Brand and a great PG to feed him the ball. With the talent on that roster I actually think they're underachieving. Memphis is another team... great frontline depth

Andy: GP. I can go on and on and on but i'll keep it real simple. I don't know what the fuck he's doing or did. That Nash deal was horrid. He has hope, no doubt but he needs to get amazingly luck. I really don't see it happening, sadly.
Blue: The Clippers have a long way to go to improve... if he becomes complacent and doesn't take an aggressive approach to rebuild his team, GP has a good chance of being the first to go.

Nova: Yes we are. The Clippers are a franchise in disarray. Darko is the only bright spot on the team, and while they do have four 1sts this season, most of them will be mid to late picks, and I just don't see them making it through their contract year

Having a player like LeBron is fun because you can use him in so many different ways... you can play him at the 2,3 or 4

Nova: I would choose the Knicks. Their big 3 are all in their prime, and while Bowen and Mashburn are getting up there age-wise, they have some nice pieces they can move in Mo Williams and Joel Pryzbilla. Dallas is in great shape, they have the best young frontcourt in the league and the best young player in the league. However, these guys are still a few years away from being stars and being in their prime, whereas the Knicks trio of players are already superstars. Dallas does also have Nash and Hill, so you can never count them out, but I don't think their young guys are going to develop fast enough and for them to win a ring in the next 3 years. Not to mention, who knows, Hill & Nash could start to decline.
Andy final word on this.....
Andy: Having to resign 3 stars will be a problem one way or another. I can see at least one of them testing FA.

Nova: You underestimate the value of Hill. 21.7ppg, 7.0rpg, 4.3 apg. Very few players are that productive especially at the SF position.
