Wincy is one of the most unheralded players to ever be in a BBS Draft Discussion. Coming from a Divsion II program in Humboldt State, Wincy has generated a lot of buzz although scouts have very little tape or information on him. Currently, he leads NCAA Div. II in rebounds with over 12 a game. After playing Gonzaga in an exhibition game, Wincy finished with 12 points, 19 rebounds and 5 blocks against the Bulldogs.
Strengths: In the mold of an NFL TE more than a SF, Wincy has incredible strength and bulk. He's an absolute terror on the glass where he rarely gets outworked for a rebound. He has a decent back to the basket game and his defense is coming along.
Weaknesses: Lacks the quickness of most SFs because of his size. Not a very good ball handler. Must develop a jump shot outside of 10 feet to be effective. Could be a better man to man defender.
Best Case Scenario: A smaller version of Danny Fortson
Worst Case Scenario: A poor man's Antonio Gates of basketball
Summary: Mid-late 1st round pick. Could be a nice gamble since he could be better than advertised with RC work.
