Filipe Jatobá
SG/SF
6'7" 205 lbs.
19 years old
Team: Tau Ceramica
Expected Ratings: C C+ C A- C A
Strengths: An elite defender. As the son of a defensive-minded coach, he honed his defensive skills at a very early age... Great perimeter defender, plays defense with his feet rather than his hands... does not give up his position on defense for an attempt at a steal, but is very opportunistic and can create havoc in the passing lanes with his long arms and good timing ability... effective as a help defender because he can cover a lot of ground with his quickness and length without giving up on his own man; has a reputation as a weak-side shotblocker... a international career 40% three-point shooter, consistent long-range game... great court vision; has uncanny ability to make the right pass at the right time... very effective on pick-and-pop plays because he can either put the ball on the floor or take the outside shot... eager to learn; all of his coaches love him because of his work ethic and hustle on the defensive end.
Weaknesses: Needs ALOT of work on his mid-range game.. despite size and length, non existent post game... despite good passing ability, he can often become careless with the ball when penetrating... could use some time in the cafeteria and the weight room so he can fill out his frame.
Other Notes: Jatobá doesn't mind waiting a few years to enter the BBS Draft. He still feels that he can ready himself more and work on his offensive game. Jatobá has 2 years left on his contract with Tau Ceramica... if he were to enter either of the next two drafts, the team that drafts him would face a pretty big buyout from his current club.
Projection: 5 to 10 for now, could go alot higher without the buyout clause and a developed offensive game
