Expected Ratings: B- B C- C+ C A
Was the #1 prospect in the country, and an obvious one-and-done player.
Strengths: Incredible all-around scorer. Best to come out of the draft since Durant. Silky smooth outside shot, shot 43% from three point land last year. Creates huge mismatch problems because of his size and quickness. Think Tracy McGrady in his prime. Great touch around the basket. Will often post up against smaller defenders, but he's proved that he can face up and score off the dribble against almost anybody. Not a great defender but long wingspan can cause disarray in the passing lanes. Not known as a shotblocker but he's had a few highlights in the category.
Weakness: Sloppy ballhandler. Often tries to do too much with ball. Will often dominate the ball, but he actually grew as a passer as the college season went on. Lazy perimeter defender, ala Michael Beasley as a rookie. Has been criticized for his lack of hustle. "Character problems"... arrested on battery charges during senior year of HS but charges were quicky dropped. His MySpace indicated that he might've had connections with gangs in his hometown Newport Bad News VA. On the contrary, Tennessee Coach Bruce Pearl said he was one of the brightest kids he's ever coached. Yeah.
Other Notes: Boom or bust prospect to say the least. Keep this kid away from the streets or we might have another Michael Vick problem. Undoubtely a very talented player though, all-star caliber if he keeps his head on straight.
