Joseph Freed
6'4 205 PG
21 years old
Projected Ratings: C- C B+ B C+ B
Overview: Joseph Freed is not flashy, he won't wow you with a crossover, but one thing is for sure: he is a winner. Freed only averaged 11 points per game as a college senior, but he hit a nation-leading 5 game winning shots, leading his team to the National Championship.
Strengths: A true floor general. Has a high basketball IQ and good vision to find teammates. He's a good passer, and almost never turns the ball over, leading college basketball in AST/TO ratio. An excellent perimeter defender, Freed plays defense conservatively and always has guarded the best opposing offensive player. Freed's most intriguing skill is his rebounding, as he averaged more rebounds than the starting center on his college team.
Weaknesses: Freed will never put up any sort of stats that look better than mediocre. He looks to pass for good reason, as he is an awful scorer. Freed struggles from the free-throw line and has trouble finishing as well. Despite being a good passer, Freed is not as quick as many of his counterparts, making him more conducive to a half-court offense. Barely averaged over a steal per game in college; doesn't take many chances.
Where will he go?: Freed will be a starting point guard in this league. He has the ability to shut down opposing players and doesn't shy away from anything. However, due tohis lack of upside and due to the fact that he can't contribute scoring the ball, Freed could drop out of the lottery and into the mid 1st round.
