Game 1:Won in Chicago 117-106. It was a pretty awful game because they shot 10-16 from three and 48% from the field. Oden went for 39/8 and Jeff Green was sick.
Game 2: Beat the Heats 91-77 without DWade. Slugfest. Not even worth talking about percentages because we combined for 57 shots made. DJ played a really good game.
Game 3: Beat the T'Wolves 94-88. Aldridge had 33/13, Jeff Green had 21/12 on 10-18 shooting. Rivers torched DJ. DJ sucks.
Game 4: Beat the Sixers 112-82... wtf? Most surprised I've ever been checking a score. No Dwade either and he had his big 4. Flukey but whatever, I need all of the wins I can get. Oden went for 50 and 17, Green had 20/10 on 7-11 shooting, DJ with 15 assists.
Game 5: Beat the Pistons 106-96 in NJ. Oden only played 13 minutes because he got hurt. Landry went for 24/10 in his absence, damn. Wade came back and scored 22. Good game out of DJ.
Great 5-0 sim, puts us 9-5 and hopefully we don't look back. Oden is out for three days and will miss games with Philly and NYK which blows, but oh well. Hopefully I can split or something. Sucks that I'm not at full strength with the Wade injury and then the Oden injury. It'll be 8 games in a row with one of those two out and messing up my DC. Oh well.

All the CY teams are doing well right now. I thought Aaron/DJ would be better. CJ will bump at least CF/Don down but all they need is their 40, they don't need the playoffs.

wow was that changed recently? I could have sworn that when you were in your CY you had to make playoffs, not just reach 40.

This is a new feature of the BBS and the Direction Board. If you have 3 years of sub 40 win seasons you will enter your contract year. In you contract year you must win 40 games, or make the playoffs. If you do not succeed you will be replaced. I hope that most people can succeed in this, and would return to BBS when an opening comes up. Haha you even posted it! |

yeah I just read it... but they need to win 40, if they win 39 and make playoffs they lose out from what I read...
regardless if they make the playoffs in the East I think a minimum of 40 games is neccessary.

My thinking is, if a playoff appearance bails you out in your contract year, it should bail you out leading up to it. But I'll obviously accept whatever the rule is. I think its a valid point, but that isn't how the rule is written. Its up to DJ, but as the rule is written now, you'd be subject to the contract year if you don't win 40. |

so no Basone, if you make the playoffs with 39 wins you are subject to removal... but it's almost a dumb argument in the East considering you won't be making the playoffs with anything less than 40 wins.

I think it was Aaron who said if playoffs/40 bails you out in the CY then shouldn't it bail you out in the years leading up to it? Which I actually think Spence is responding to in the quote you posted IIRC. Even so, farther down that thread it was agreed that making the playoffs bails you out. Doesn't matter thought. If they don't hit 40 they won't make the playoffs. |

A lot of teams over the years have made playoffs on 39 wins or less, and this just started their contract year clock all over again. So I think if you make the playoffs/ get 40 you are safe. But like everyone says you need to 40 in the east. You could win 30 and make it in the west. |

I know this has been beaten to death but... with the Lakers rebuilding and Denver losing Conley, would a single WCF crack the top-8 in the East? Maybe Galo because he has a few really good players, but IDK.
