Lucas Chambers
position: Guard
age: 19
height: 6'4
weight: 197lbs
Current Team: University of Manitoba
Prospect Grades:
C+ B+ B- C+ C- B
Stengths:
Sweet stroke from beyond the arc. Already has BBS 3pt range. Smooth off of the dribble and can create separation to get his shot off. Nice touch around the hoop. Consistent with his floater. Good free throw shooter. Thin but surprisingly strong. Likes to post up shorter guards and work his way inside where he finishes with unorthodox flip/hook shots. Unselfish player with good court vision and passing ability. Solid play maker. Likes to push the ball in transition and setup teammates for easy buckets. Good first step and quickness. Above average defender. Will draw charges and create turnovers with his active hands. Decent rebounder for his size. Boxes out and is not afraid to mix it up down low against bigger players.
Weaknesses:
Possesses good play making abilities but is not a point guard. Undersized as a shooting guard. Has good quickness but possesses only average leaping ability. He won't be dunking on people. More smooth than explosive. Has deceptive strength but can get pushed around by bigger shooting guards. Has good lateral quickness but not exceptional. Has the potential to become a solid defender but probably won't become anything more. Fiery competitor that can let his temper get the best of him at times. Can be drawn into personal battles on the court, causing him to lose focus. Tough but needs to keep his emotions in check. Capable of winning games on his own but can also cost his team a win when he loses control. History of off the court issues. Recently admitted to hospital following a bar fight.
Notes:
Eligible for the 2016 BBS draft but he is rumored to be leaning towards declaring for the 2017 draft. Top player in Canada, but the talent level in the CIS isn't the strongest so his Pro potential is uncertain.
