Otto Koehler
position: Forward/Center
age: 23
height: 6'10
weight: 227lbs
Current Team: Frankfurt(Germany)
Prospect Grades:
C+ C- D+ B B B
Strengths:
High energy player. Hard worker and well liked by team mates and coaches. Decent athlete for his size. Out works his opponents more
often than not. Not afraid to dive for loose balls. Adequate strength and quickness. Solid post defender. Will hit the open mid range jumper at a good rate. Will knock down more FT's than he misses. Consistent on the glass. Always seems to be in the right spot for rebounds. Blocks out well. Will earn second chance points for his team with hustle. Very safe with the ball. Possesses a good feel for the game. Developing post moves. Runs the floor hard.
Weaknesses:
Offensive game has yet to develop. Can knock down shots but is not a threat from long distance. Struggles to create his own offense. Protects the ball very well, but won't rack up many assists. Post game is a work in progress. Needs to become more decisive with his back to the basket. Not quick enough to be a reliable perimeter defender. Could stand to add more muscle. Solid post defender but not known as a shot blocking presence. Will only be average athletically in the BBS.
Notes:
Plays professionally in Europe. Works part time as a bus driver. Rumours suggest that he wants to make the jump to BBS but he could very well stay in Europe a few more seasons. Highly touted prospect as a youngster. Has been a steady contributor over his career but has never reached the level some thought he could achieve. Will his game translate to the BBS? His attitude and hard working nature have many scouts believing that he could eventually become a valuable reserve.
