nobody in the NFL had a really amazing year to get the mvp. It was a tough choice. Brees did I don't understand how AP gets no discussion. Sure, he had fewers TDs than Turner but he had more yards per carry and more total yards. And he did so with a much worse QB all season long. MVP doesn't always have to go to a guy on a great team. they didn't win nine straight and make the playoffs.

Chester Taylor taking a lot of his TDs killed his chances though

This game is tight.
I hope the Dolphins somehow pull it out.
Great showings from both rookie coaches this year

Brees did I don't understand how AP gets no discussion. Sure, he had fewers TDs than Turner but he had more yards per carry and more total yards. And he did so with a much worse QB all season long. MVP doesn't always have to go to a guy on a great team. they didn't win nine straight and make the playoffs. they did make the playoffs, and with not a lot of great pieces on hand. 4.8 yards per carry with that many carries is a pretty ridiculous stat, especially when every defense obviously fixated on stopping him, and when, on top of that, frerotte was his qb for most of the year. frerotte was straight up terrible this year, as always. i think the only reason ap didn't get enough attention this year was because of how he played in their monday nighter. he was so awful, but he really put together an awesome season. i think as far as manning's year goes, it comes down to his team playing extremely well, not his season. brees had 1000 more passing yds. rivers had about the same season. warner had a better year. so if you want to say it comes down to value, well, i think he's the best qb in the nfl, but i don't think he had an mvp season. i think no matter how many wins in a row they had, this was always a 12-4 type team, and he had a very good, but not MVP year. if peyton manning at this point is getting mvp when the colts go 12-4, he better be statistically dominant. he got it for name and winning streak credentials. i think AP was on a one-dimensional offense, and carried a team with gus frerotte and tavaris jackson at qb to the playoffs. the vikings went 10-6! mvp shouldn't be a measure of how many wins your team has, but really, how many other backs would the vikings have been 10-6 with?

Peyton was incredible in his last regular season games and he should have won it.

If DeAngelo had been more of a feature back for more of the season, he'd be the MVP easily. Dude averaged 5.5 ypc and led the league in rushing TD's with 18.
I think Rivers should have won it honestly. No way Peyton deserved it. Cases can also be made for Turner, Peterson, Andre Johnson, and even DeMarcus Ware IMO.

hahaha No way Peyton deserved it? The man carried his team into the playoffs without a running game, a horrible d and so many injuries. He was great and you can make the case for other guys but to say that he didn't deserved it is just stupid.

the colts had a good defense this year. it's not ever going to be overbearing or ultra physical but that doesnt mean it's bad.

they can't seem to stop the run.
Apparently their pass D was intense. They only allowed 6 passing TDs all year.

Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco, pretty solid rookie QBs leading supposedly bad teams to the playoffs. With rookie coaches no less.

Sometimes its great to be a Colts fan. Other times it sucks.
Last night was one of those times.
