Atlanta has a nice pass rush but a pretty shitty all-around defense.Michael Turner was huge for that team. Matt Ryan was great but Turner made his job a whole lot easier, and his running kept the Atlanta D off the field. I just think he was as instrumental as anyone was for their team.

Ed Reed should be the DPOY That guy is a stud It's a toss-up between him and Ware... 20 sacks is an incredible feat. It might be a cop-out answer but I think they both deserve it

they didn't win nine straight and make the playoffs. they did make the playoffs, and with not a lot of great pieces on hand. 4.8 yards per carry with that many carries is a pretty ridiculous stat, especially when every defense obviously fixated on stopping him, and when, on top of that, frerotte was his qb for most of the year. frerotte was straight up terrible this year, as always. i think the only reason ap didn't get enough attention this year was because of how he played in their monday nighter. he was so awful, but he really put together an awesome season. i think as far as manning's year goes, it comes down to his team playing extremely well, not his season. brees had 1000 more passing yds. rivers had about the same season. warner had a better year. so if you want to say it comes down to value, well, i think he's the best qb in the nfl, but i don't think he had an mvp season. i think no matter how many wins in a row they had, this was always a 12-4 type team, and he had a very good, but not MVP year. if peyton manning at this point is getting mvp when the colts go 12-4, he better be statistically dominant. he got it for name and winning streak credentials. i think AP was on a one-dimensional offense, and carried a team with gus frerotte and tavaris jackson at qb to the playoffs. the vikings went 10-6! mvp shouldn't be a measure of how many wins your team has, but really, how many other backs would the vikings have been 10-6 with? I meant drew brees not leading his team to the playoffs and they had a horrible record. Yeah a lot of that was not due to him but how can he be the most valuable player when his team did so bad. It is more than just your own performance, your team has to actually be doing good. Peyton stepped up big and turned the colts season around. I think other guys could of got the award but he proved how valuable he is in that stretch. How many qbs can turn a season around and do what he did. Michael Turner deserves it more than AP if you are going to say AP should get it.

Atlanta played much more difficult schedule than Minnesota (NFC South>>>>NFC North)
Ryan's a better QB than Frerotte/Jackson but the Vikings offensive line and defense as a whole is better than Falcon's
Adrian Peterson is a better running back than Michael Turner but I feel like Turner did more for his team, especially by keeping a weak defense off the field. I'd have a hard time giving the MVP to a guy who fumbled as often as Peterson did as well
