1) Eduardo Bueno C 7'2'' 240 20 B- B C B B- B
Bueno is muy bueno. One of the most intriguing prospects in league history, especially given his Mexican descent, which will make him the most successful Mexcian player in league history (sorry Eduardo Najera).
Bueno is a swingman trapped in a big man's body. He is an incredibly fast center who would probably love to be converted to a small forward, but will most likely translate to a power forward or center due to his vast size.
It is hard to make a comparison for Bueno given that his skills are so unique.
He is a solid passer, is very fast and has average ball handling ability.
Bueno can hit from three point land with ease and will likely be a double-digit rebound threat on any team.
If his ceiling is high and scouts expect it to be, he could be a one-of-a-kind all-star.
2) Darian Norris C 7'1'' 285 22 C+ D+ D- B C+ A
Norris is an absolute beast at the center position and is an exceptional defender.
Players will have a really hard time adjusting to his size and strength.
He learned how to play the game of basketball as a freshman in college after sprouting from an overweight fringe 6'3" offensive lineman to a 7'1" behemoth at USC.
Norris's skills are very unpolished and his post offense has a lot of room for improvement. He reminds many scouts of Michael Olowakandi in college, an older player with a high ceiling. While Olowakandi was a complete bust, Norris could really go either way.
3) Kenyon Mack PG 6'3'' 197 21 C+ C+ B+ B+ C C
How do you pass up a prospect who could start at one of the league's thinnest positions? Mack has shown what he can do on the collegiate level as an all-Pac 10 point guard and defensive point guard for Kansas St.
Mack has incredible ball-handling ability and speed and also has some of the quickest hands that scouts have ever seen.
His offensive game needs polishing, but it's nothing that a few RCs can't handle.
Scouts think that his potential may be tapped out, but if it isn't, he could be a hall-of-famer.
4) Ivan Lando PG 6'0'' 213 21 C B- B B D+ B
Lando is your typical fundamentally-sound point guard. He has the potential to one day be a starter, is a solid passer and a great defender with a shooting stroke with room for growth.
Lando also has great size and reminds many of a much better version of Khalid El-Amin or Mateen Cleaves. Lando's college career is eerily similar after learning Drexel to a cinderella Final Four appearance.
Lando carried the Drexel team and proved his leadership capabilities.
5) Kevin Ruffin C 7'0'' 243 21 B- C- D B C+ B
Not a lot of scouts saw Ruffin in his freshman and sophomore year, but that doesn't mean that word of mouth didn't travel when this Texas A&M Corpus Christi Islanders center was dominating Southland conference competition.
Ruffin was schooling guys like it was nobody's business. Dropping 30/20 games and making opposing players look like punks.
Very impressive stuff in a very unimpressive conference, which is what scares scouts off of Ruffin.
Part two of the FBB prospects will be up later. Let's just say that the prospects this year leave much to be desired.
