Now that the embargo against Russia has waived due to the Popov Treaty of 2018 Russian players can now come back and grace the BBS hardwood. Looking to head over the pond is Russian sharpshooter Dmitri Maximov. Maximov has been on scouts radars for a while now as his impressive play as a youth had BBS GM's drooling.
Strengths-
Dmitri is one hell of a shooter. His mid-range game and 3 point shot are very remarkable for someone at his age. Dmitri was known to go out at midnight and shoot for hours upon hours when he was younger, and the practice has payed dividends. Pretty quick as well. Very good lateral foot speed and shows above hand eye coordination. Really cares about winning rather then being a star player, however if he needs to be the star player in order to win he will work torwards that goal. Very goal orientated individual. All-around a class act which will put him higher up on GM's radar's. Shows a roof to improve his game. Should turn out to be an above average defender as well.
Weaknesses-
Dmitri has the roof and initiative to succeed at the next level but some GM's question his athleticism. His body frame is his biggest problem he is extremely lanky. Maximov refused to hit the weight room last summer as he felt speed was more important for his game then strength. This attitude although making him a menace on the perimeter both offensively and defensively it doesn't make him a complete player. Tends to be shy inside on both offensive and defensive ends.
Outlook.
A sharpshooter with potential he needs to develop some sort of inside game if he wants to reach the next level. Should be a nice little project for whoever drafts him.
