Potential BBS Ratings
B+ C C B C+ B
Foregoing his Senior Year at Charlotte is Stephon McXavier, the A-10 player of the year and Runner Up for the Naismath Award. McXavier is known through out the country as "The Human Highlight Reel" for his immaculate dunking abilities and athleticism. McXavier ran the table against the rest of the NCAA last year and thinks he is good enough to try out the BBS.
Strengths. If you had the definition of athleticism in the dictionary his picture would 100 percent be there. No one has ever seen jumping ability the likes of McXavier in the entirety of BBS. No lie. At Golden State's workout this summer McXavier recorded a 50 inch vertical jump. No one in the history of BBS has ever scored that high. McXavier is known for his dazzling moves under the rim as well. Some of his layup's and dunks are some of the most amazing moves known to man. His decent speed allows him to slash to the hoop above average. Handles are above average as well. His amazing vertical will allow him to be a big time rebounder at the 2. Above average strength. Long wingspan allows him to be a decent defender, can improve in this aspect however. Big time offensive rebounder
Weaknesses. GM's don't love McXavier for one reason. His lack of jumpshot. Jumping over people was just too easy for McXavier in college so he never developed a solid jump shot. McXavier loved to woo people with his huge dunks that he would rarely shoot outside 15 feet. GM's aren't too optimistic about his potential to improve his jump shot. As one scout put it "It would take a lot and would be a giant transition, I think it is too big for him to overcome." McXavier's attitude is also pretty poor. "He is treading on thin ice if he thinks he is going to run this league like he did in college." Another BBS scout told us. "One-dimensional players aren't superstars here." McXavier, although a very strong man defender doesn't really comprehend defensive duty when the ball is not in his man's hand. He doesn't play passing lanes too well and seems like he is lost when he is playing off the ball although he is pretty much near lock-down when his man has the ball. Potential is somewhat limited but there is still room to grow especially on the defensive end.
Outlook
McXavier should be a lotto pick and is a crowd favorite all though most of his points will be coming at the rim. GM's shouldn't underestimate his put back skills on the offensive boards as he can rebound very well.
