Yeah there is no one out there to hire but I think you need to train this guys a little bit. Make them asst gms while you run the team or at least do their dc, then you give them a two week trade ban where you review all their trades and hear what they are trying to do. Then you let them free. Could be a great way to get guys to join the league and stick around. Plus it would prevent a lot of bad trades that may occur early on in a gm hire. No one wants to be an Assistant. Why would you want to be an assistant GM? Everyone that starts as an Assistant ends up leaving. |

I don't get the one week trade ban, or running a trade by me with new GMs. In the end there is no difference. If a new Gm makes a bad trade I may step in, so keep it in mind. But is this something you didn't know? I mean do you think id let a new Gm come in and suck and not do anything at all? I just think its a lame argument.

Just have an eye on some of these noobs gms so things like this wont happen, if you do that then who knows maybe a new young core of guys will start to form here. It is another thing you have to do right now, but in a few seasons they will be fine on there own.

Its a great league, and the Gm quality is high but NBN and UOSLR and even a league like ABCA are all extremely good as well. It isn't impossible to be able to come and fit in here. It just takes a little patience to get used to ratings and player values. |

If this gm went through the process I just talked about this trade would have never happened. That is why their is a trade ban IMO, yeah you dont need one because you can veto whatever, but its better to ask you over pm then look like a fool.

For now its just a veto. For future reference, if I ever say "I dont know about this guy, lets give him a chance" this means, I dont know if this guy is a good GM or not but we should give him a chance. So if the guy makes a bad first deal, it may be vetoed. Doesnt mean Im gonna give up on the guy, just means his trades will be viewed critially by me and they may need to be worked on. Everyone in BBS has been pretty lucky that weve always had a good core of GMs with a solid wait list. Well, as the GM core become finicky and decides certain Gms cant be here, the Gm wait list gets thinner. As a group we need to develop some new GMs. +10 I hate when guys try to rape the new gm....How the hell do we expect to keep new guys if we always go for the rape instead of trying to help them adjust to the league. Agreed. Nothing against Mark but there is no way you can justify that it makes sense for a new GM to make a big trade in his first hour in the league. A trade ban for the first week or something like that would be nice... it's probably already been said but i dont feel like reading 5 pages |
