I know that Spence is simming faster right now to get to the more interesting draft classes, but I don't think it's that necessary to wait. If we were dealing with guys like Magic, Bird, Nique, MJ, Ewing, Malone, Stockton, Barkley, etc. in the coming drafts, I think it would get everyone A LOT more interested in the league and would do a lot for activity.
So my idea is that we skip the next bunch of draft classes to get to the 1978 draft, and maybe we could add in notable guys from the classes we missed every so often, or maybe we could skip them altogether. I just think there's no need to wait for these guys to come when we all know they will add a lot of interest back into BBS.
I know Spence works hard on the drafts, but I'm assuming he isn't done with next year's class and beyond. Obviously it's his call but I thought I'd bring it up to everyone to see if it could be a good move!

This is all you ever contribute - some negative/obnoxious comment without any justification. Good stuff. It didn't even occur to me that I had my 35 when I thought of this idea, but yeah, good stuff. It's an idea to help the league out. You're just a petty, negative fuckhead, so sure, I'm suggesting this because I have my pick next year.

because i gave my opinion on an idea that I did not like I am negative and obnoxious. Excuse me for knowing that you came up with this idea coincendentally the same time your team starting sucking and you go your own pick back. I shouldn't draw conclusions so easily, but why wasn't this idea proposed earlier then
Get off your high horse, just because you came up with a "good idea" doesn't mean everyone is going to think that. this has nothing to do with draft classes relating to activity... the gms in this league obviously do not put in the same time and effort as previously for various issues. I'm in another league and activity is fine because GMs there make the league active.
Doing dumb things like putting Jordan and Bird so early is going to mess up alot of people's plans, including mine.
You want activity, get people to post articles but don't talk to me about being a negative fuckhead simply because I do not agree with you. Stop being so childish.

I will not support this idea unless we implement the "who will get the most rebounds on day 111?" idea first.

You're negative and ridiculous because you don't contribute anything worthwhile, ever. I proposed an idea and you decided to attack me and accuse me of trying to help myself out instead of giving any actual opinion about the idea. This pretty much reveals how worthless you are. You accuse me of doing this to serve myself and then admit the only reason you're against is because you're looking out for yourself. You can't give any reason why this won't help out the league, and instead toss out the lame alternative of writing an article. The idea is to get people more interested, not to force them to write an article when they're not into the league. What good will that do? Hey asshole, it's not a fucking mystery. Do you ever try to think logically? Activity isn't random. It completely reflects league interest. More interest, better activity. My idea was to stimulate interest. You're too fucking stupid to connect the two, apparently.

Personally,I think they should be sprinkled in randomly.
In the real world you dont know there's a superstar coming down the pike in 4,5 whatever yrs. Why should'nt BBS be like that.

if i don't contribute anything worthwhile, what am I doing here then? The only person being attacked here is me with your vulgar language and attitude and your inability to reply to me without some sort of an insult, shows your class. Anyways...
I gave you my reason why I think this idea isn't god.. OK let's bring in MJ and Bird and Magic in let's create interest for 2 or 3 seasons.. then what? do we skip the rest of the drafts and bring in Lebron, wade, bosh? and then bring in another jordan while the current jordan is still playing? it's going to be the same cycle, we do an expansion draft bring a guy back who has a track record of being inactive and he goes inactive again. same thing happened with ebener.
So after this generates interest for all of one or two seasons, then what? There shouldn't never be a dramatic drop in activity like it has happened in BBS for the past year but this has nothing to do with what's going on in the league. If you look back at all the old threads people said "i still love bbs and i try to be as active as possible but with school, or work, or whatever im just not as active as i used to be" it's not like theyre saying bbs is boring..how many expansion drafts or jumping up in drafts can you do to spark interest?
Activity needs to be constant... and I don't care what you have to say to this but this current BBS can learn something from the current UOSLR and this is absolutely NO knock on the way Spencer runs this league but even he will admit to what I am saying.
I'm not in for a "quick fix" of activity and this is what this is.

why would this generate interest for only 1 or 2 seasons. Once we hit the 90s it is going to be booming. It will be awesome. Everyone will be active i am sure.

UOSLR is active because we're in 2003 or 04, that is why it is booming right now. People love what they know already, everyone knows the guys that are young and coming in the drafts, so things are exciting.

If we jumped to 78 or whatever wouldn't the idea be we would be going from 78 and following the same way we are now? How is that a 'quick fix'?

I really have no idea. There's no chance you have a plan for your team, and there's no chance this move would hurt affect your plan even slightly. You don't care about your team or your league and your whole argument here makes no sense.

At the risk of getting flamed I think this is a good idea. Knowing the players definitely makes it easier to take part in the league when you first start and it is generally more enjoyable.

I am going by what I have read from people when Spencer brought up the inactivity... if I recall correctly he himself suggested that activity would improve once we hit the 90s, but what I got from people's responses wasn't that we were in the 70s as the reason this league was "inactive" it was simply because they didn't have the time they once did. I don't see how being in the 90s is going to help people be more active when they are time constrained as it is with real life things.

We started in the 90s so of course it is going to be active. It has recently been booming because we have moved into 2000 and beyond. BBS was crazy active during that time as well. Sometimes leagues takes hits, UOSLR will do this as well. You can't deny that the league is active because of the era it is in.
