Like the HC penalty has prevented people from going over?

I don't think the hard cap should be raised. The time limit needs to be increased though.

I have a little bit more sympathy for New Orleans because they're struggling and he's a new GM but rules are rules. It really isn't hard to stay under, but sometimes you make decisions that might not best for the short-term of your franchise. I 'lowballed' Yao because I knew if I signed him for a max one year deal I was going to be in trouble. In the same situation, New Orleans really couldn't have to resign Bogut for that kind of money and not expect themselves to be where they are now. It totally sucks for CF, and if he was contemplating quitting before this it'll make it that much easier for him to quit. I have sympathy for him. But I also know this needs to be followed through with.

Like the HC penalty has prevented people from going over? With every team that gets hit, it is less likely another team will do it.

IMO, keep the penalty and raise the hc to 88-90 this offseason

Its unfair to teams that consistently stay under 85 to raise it because some people cant stay under.

This is the first year we've seen this... no reason to make a knee-jerk reaction and increase the HC. Teams need to be fiscally responsible. Make some sacrifices.

What was Memphis penalty for going over?

All 3 would've gotten under in 48 hours. It seems like that would fix everything.

I don't think the hard cap should be raised. The time limit needs to be increased though. i agree wit this 48 would have been enough. I have off today and would have been able to work something without rushing. i stayed up until 2 am fri to get a deal done. . . . then when i had to work all day yesterday i took a hour or so off to get this cleared up and fucked myself at work on monday. and no all that was for nothing. 48 hours would have saved my ass
