the list just doesn't make sense.. what business does Earth, Wind & Fire, The Roots, Beastie Boys, Black Eyed Peas, Isaac Hayes, The Jackson 5, The bee Gees, on a ROCK band list? Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They shouldn't be there either. A lot of music critics seem to like taking where the bands inspiration came from and applying that to what type of band they are.

There's so many flaws with this list it's not worth getting into.
Foremost though is there's a lot of bands on there that isnt fucking rock.
The Carpenters, sheeesh. And I like me some Earth Wind and Fire now but they are'nt rock, nor are the O'Jays ,Isaac Hayes,Bee Gees among many others. The list is flawed right off the fucking bat.
But beyond that they dont have a damn clue. The judges brains are fried from too much drug use I think.

Nirvana changed rock and roll. Maybe other bands wouldve done it also, but when Nirvana hit they hit in a way that allowed that whole scene to blow up. Kurt Cobain was a very good song writer. He wasnt a good guitarist. Kurt Novelsic(sp?) was a mediocre basist. Dave Grohl is one of the better drummers over the last 20 years. Nirvana was a difference maker and they should be a top 20 band at least for that.
I actually liked many bands more then Nirvana when Nirvana came out, but none of those bands got tons of play until Nirvana hit big.
You cant say they were overrated IMO, unless you were listening to music in the late 80's early 90's when music completely sucked.

Audioslave should be higher. I love Chris Cornell, and I love RATM but Audioslave sucked. They shouldve been much better.

Eh, Cornell was so much better in Soundgarden. All of his vocals sound the same now. Tom Morello sounds like a pop guitarist now too, he was sick in RATM.

Tom Morello has some sick solo in there. And cornell is the best ever, i dont know I love them. Morello came out with an album a few months back, maybe a 1 year ago, it was pretty solid. I was so sad when cornell left and they broke up. ugh, im still sad.

Sorry. have you ever listened to their 'Renegades' album? Some great covers on there. All the RATM albums are good. The first one was just sick though. Once again, when Freedom first came out it was like wow. Another sick band not many know is Kyuss. Thats where Josh Homme started.

At least they got Zeppelin right. RIP Bonham. I love Zeppelin. I don't think any band ever combined talent and hits as well as they have. There is a difference between being a pop band and being a rock band that makes hits. Eagles are a pop band. Zeppelin is a rock band that made amazing amounts of good songs.

I could easily sit down and listen to any Zeppelin album and still be blown away.
Except maybe "In Through the Out Door." Hot Dog is a weird song. Carouselambra is good though.
