I would put like 100 bands over the Black Eye Peas. Smashing Pumpkins would be anywhere from 90-100 for me.

How is STP above Nirvana? Not saying that should be the case but Nirvana is probably the most overrated rock band of all time.

Radiohead shouldn't be 90. GNR should be a lot higher than 35. Bruce should be higher. Metallica should be a little bit higher. I never liked The Police. CCR should be higher too.

Yeah right. I would put them #3 actually. They have like 30 hits.

Nirvana started an era. So many bands were influenced by them. I actually think they are a bit low. I loved Soundgarden, but didn't know others liked them enough to be ranked that high. I 100% agree with it though.

explain why you feel Nirvana is overrated. Technically they are no where near other of the greatest bands of the modern era.

I 100% agree with it though. I'm going have to disagree, I think Pearl Jam and Soundgarden had some influence in that as well.

Nirvana never claimed to be original or the greatest thing to come along in music. They enjoyed making heartfelt music that was full of emotion and catchy guitar melodies. As for the lyrics they were meant to be abstract and not make sense on certain levels. Nirvana still remains a favorite band to me all these years later. They made some very catchy pop songs and some nice borderline punk gems. Bleach, Nevermind, and In Utero are all strong releases with some stellar songs. I don't get the beat down of Nirvana other then people don't like the fact Kurt committed suicide or they gained huge attention when they never set out to get it. I don't get why those who don't like a certain band feel the need to bash them or proclaim how overrated they were. Nirvana was talented and if you didn't like them....fine.....there are plenty more who did. The fact is they are highly praised by tons of modern day musicians and critics. I'm not saying they were the greatest band out there but they were talented and made some very strong music during their existance.

Not to mention the MTV Unplugged performance was probably one of the best live acoustic performances EVER performed, EVER.
