I could easily sit down and listen to any Zeppelin album and still be blown away. Except maybe "In Through the Out Door." Hot Dog is a weird song. Carouselambra is good though. They got too almost country bluesy towards the end, which isnt my thing.

I think you're underselling the Eagles. I kinda like some of their earlier stuff. Did'nt love them or anything but they were nice changeup. Thing is, when Eagles came out noone sounded like them. They had a uniqueness all their own. Now after they became popular you had the Oak Ridge Boys,Alabama,Charlie Daniels etc taking off on what they were. The case could be made they shaped what country has become.
I personally dont like country particularly so I kinda hate saying that. But when they first came out they were very innovative. Really the first band to integrate country and rock.

There is a Zepplin contengancy and a Pink Floyd contengancy. Both have influenced modern rock but I prefer the latter more then the former.

Really the first band to integrate country and rock. Doesnt mean they were anything more then a pop band. I mean theyre talented sure, but I dont hold pop bands very highly. Just me. IDK, I prefer Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix to The Beatles for the same reasons.

Pink Floyd is cool, its just so different from Led Zeppelin I dont see ho it needs to be one or the other. I like rock. To me, it doesnt get more rock then Zeppelin.

I would've liked to see the Allman Brothers higher. But its tough cuz they lost Duane so early in their career.

I was always an Aerosmith guy myself when I was young. Their first 4 albums are greatness. Did'nt like Zeppelin as much because I like pure voices. They did stuff with plants voice on the albums I just did'nt like. The reverberators, voice synthesizer and stuff. Just did'nt like it as much as many of my friends did.

Different forms of rock branched off of one or another. You have Metallica, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden and even your QOTSA that branched off of Led Zepplin. Led Zepplin can be attributed to modern metal. Where you have Pink Floyd which influenced bands such as The Doors, Rush, The Who up to bands like Sublime and 311. You have Led Zepplin which was hard modern rock and Pink Floyd which is soft modern rock and bands branch off of one of those two styles.
